What is virgin wool?
Virgin wool is the first wool to be shorn from a sheep, which means that the fibers are particularly soft and high-quality. It comes directly from the living animal and is therefore of high quality and purity. The fibers are elastic, robust and offer excellent thermal properties.

Heat and insulation
New wool has excellent thermal properties. It retains body heat well and is therefore ideal for winter clothing such as sweaters, scarves, hats and gloves.

Care of virgin wool:
-
Wash:
There are differences in the modern processing of new wool. So pay attention to the symbols on the label. Some yarns can only be hand washed. In this case, new wool should preferably be washed by hand in lukewarm water with a special wool detergent. Strong rubbing or wringing should be avoided. Some modern new wool yarns can be machine washed on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees.
-
Dry:
Do not tumble dry. Gently squeeze the water out of the garment and lay flat on a towel to dry. Avoid direct sunlight and sources of heat.
-
Iron:
Set the iron to the lowest heat setting, often marked "wool" or with a low heat symbol. High temperatures can burn or mat the wool.
